Privacy Policy
Last updated October 9, 2026
Next Show recommends concerts and records based on the music you already go see and buy, and helps you make plans with friends. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Google account basics: your name and email address, when you sign in with Google.
- Gmail (only if you choose to connect it): read-only access to your inbox. We search only for ticketing and music emails (for example from Ticketmaster, AXS, DICE, SeatGeek, Eventbrite and Bandcamp, and messages about presales or on-sales) and extract facts like artists, show dates, venues, prices and presale codes. We store those extracted facts and a short summary of each relevant email, not your full emails. We never send, delete or change anything in your mailbox.
- What you tell us: your city, budget, artists you love, friends you add, plans and replies, and your thumbs up or down on recommendations.
- Chat messages you send to Next Show and its replies.
- Plan replies from people without an account: the name they enter and a cookie so they can change their answer.
How we use it
- To build your music taste profile and recommend shows, out-of-town trips and records.
- To match shows with friends you’ve connected with, and to run the plans you create.
- To send you alerts you asked for, such as ticket price drops and plan replies.
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Google user data
Next Show’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Gmail data is used only to provide and improve the features described above for you. It is not used for advertising, not sold, and not read by people except with your permission, for security reasons, or where the law requires.
Who we share it with
- Your friends on Next Show see your name and which recommended shows suit them too. They never see your emails.
- Service providers that run Next Show for us: Anthropic (AI processing of emails and recommendations), Neon (database), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), Ticketmaster and Discogs (show and record lookups, which receive artist names, not your personal data), and Deezer (song previews).
Your choices
- Disconnect Gmail at any time from your Google account permissions.
- Delete your account and all of its data at any time from Settings (⚙︎ → Delete my account). This also revokes Next Show’s access to your Gmail. You can also email support@gist.website and we’ll delete it within 30 days.
Security and retention
Data is encrypted in transit and stored with our database provider. We keep it while your account is active and delete it when you ask us to.
